GMOs!

GMOs! is a puzzle-y farm game with mutant crops and hungry turtles. Grow enough crops to meet your objectives within the time limit and don't let the turtles get them! No turtles were harmed in the making of this game.

GMOs! was a solo-developed project made for Godot Wild Jam 94.

Controls

While farming:

Left-click on Seed Pouches in the bottom left corner to select a crop, then left-click on a dirt tile to plant it.

Click the buttons in the bottom-right or press 1, 2, or 3 to equip farming tools. 

Use the Watering Can and hover the mouse over crops to water them.

Use the Hoe and click on grown plants to harvest them.

Use the Hand and left-click & drag turtles to move them far away from your plants!

Scroll mouse wheel to zoom camera.

Press F1 to toggle crop water bars.

Press F2 to toggle crop health bars.

Mutation Machine:

Hold left-click and drag crops from the bottom-left into the empty squares under Mutate or Combine. Use the input boxes to choose how many Mutation Points or crops to spend. Click confirm to perform a mutation or combination.

Mutating a crop has a chance to add a randomly selected trait. 

Combining crops reproduces the crop type in the left input panel with a chance to add traits from either of the two parent crops. Each input crop has a 25% chance to be consumed in the process.

Store:

Left click on a Seed Pouch to purchase 1 of that seed with no special traits. Each purchase costs 5 Mutation Points.
